I was here for dinner a while back and it was really good but after that I keep on hearing that this place serves wonderful breakfast. With the restaurant being a few minutes walk away, I just have to check it out.

Tom Kitchen is own by the Michelin Starred chef Tom Aikens who is in the process of relocating his flagship restaurant.

It was great to see the chef in service today at the restaurant. One dish that this place is renown for from my sources is their take on the french toast or eggy bread if you like to call it like that.

Other alluring dishes on offer were also the pancakes and waffles and various classic eggs dishes.

But today I feel like a sweet start to the day so I got the brioche french toast with caramelised apples and cinnamon cream (£10).

I must warn you, its massive! You can share it between two people.

Even thou I only manage to finish nearly half of it but it was really delicious. The toast is soft, not overly sweet and the cinnamon adds a subtle essence that compliment the toast well while not overpowering the dish. The apples were sweet and slightly tart and retain its texture that cuts the richness of the toast well. Drizzle it with their maple syrup is indulging.

The french toast is really really good, lived to my expectations and will surely come back to try their other dishes.

Price:£ (£15 plus coffee)
