Opera Tavern serves up tapas inspired dishes in the heart of Theatre Land


Opera Tavern at first does not look like a Tapas restaurant but instead like a typical public house


But once you get in, its not what you thought it is… The dining space is well lit with the open grill kitchen so that you can see the grill master doing his thing and the iberico ham on display to get you hungry


The menu are categorised into meat, fish and vegetables all served up at around ~£8 and tapas portions… You can also get dishes from the grill and charcuterie from both Italy and Spain

So then let see what I have


To start I got the Jamon Iberico de Bellota aged 5 yrs… This is amazing…. Nutty, savoury and well cured.. The nature of the breed being fed with acorn gave it that distinctive taste..


Follow by the Iberico foie gras slider and tomato mozzarella aubergine marjoram…


Hands down I think this is one of the best sliders I have in London… The iberico pork gives it that sweet, succulent and savoury… The iberico had that distinctive aroma which really puts the slider up top… The addition of foie gras adds luxurious and indulgence which compliments the pork well… An amazing dish!

The mozzarella was refreshing, sweet and acidic and the aubergine gave it that smokey, herb infusion that marries the marjoram and mozzarella all together


Follow by the Old Spot pork belly confit and cannelloni beans infused with rosemary… The skin was crispy and the pork pulled apart tender but the beans was abit heavy.. Makes it all very rich and hard to get through


For dessert, its cold chocolate fondant with espresso ice cream… Chocolate was gooey, rich and not overly sweet… The PX caramel sauce balance it out through it sweetness and the ice cream refreshes your taste buds every bite.. A good end…

Opera Tavern brings delicious food to the table and the slider was the bomb! A pleasurable experience in both food and service and therefore I would highly recommend you to try!
